That’s A Hatch, Academy of Our Lady!

On Monday, April 9th Kindergartens at Academy of Our Lady in Glen Rock put 12 fertile chick eggs into our incubator. We made sure the incubator was set at 100 degrees, the temperature needed to hatch the eggs. We opened an educational egg each day, that showed us what the chick looked liked as it developed and kept a countdown on a calendar. After patiently waiting 21 days, we were thrilled to see the eggs begin to hatch! Six eggs hatched on Tuesday, May 1st and four more hatched on Wednesday, May 2nd. The children have been so proud to show off the chicks to all the classrooms that have come to see them! We do this project each year in preparation for our class trip to the farm each spring!
