There are 22 Catholic high schools located within the Archdiocese of Newark. As of October 2022, high school enrollment was 10,215 students: 8 schools are coeducational, 6 are single-sex male, and 8 are single-sex female, with three that vary and serve grades 7-12.
Our Catholic high schools are located in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Union counties: 73% are located in suburban settings, and 27% are within urban/inner-city areas.
Our high schools educate a diverse group of students. The enrollment breakdown includes 57% Caucasian, 20% African American, 22% Hispanic or Latino, 8% Asian, and 15% other groups or multi-racial.
Roman Catholics comprise 68% of the student population.
All our Catholic high schools are college preparatory, which means their instructional programs exceed requirements outlined by the New Jersey Student Learning Standards. Each school is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools or the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools (NJAIS).
Approximately 98% of the student graduating from our high schools pursue a college education.
