Principal Openings:
The Archdiocese of Newark Schools Office is currently accepting applications for the position of elementary school principal for the 2025-2026 school year. Those wishing to be considered for principal positions should submit requested documents to Barbara Dolan at [email protected].
Candidates must possess educational vision, leadership skills, organizational ability and strong interpersonal strengths. Must be a committed Catholic who can inspire faculty and staff and engage parents and students in pursuit of both spiritual development and academic excellence.
We are seeking mission-driven, visionary, and dynamic leaders for the 2025-2026 academic year. The applicant pool for elementary school principals in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Union Counties opens in January of 2025. REQUIREMENTS- Practicing Catholic
- Relevant experience in teaching and/or administration
- Earned master’s degree in educational administration or related field
- 2 letters of recommendation from professional sources
- Pastor reference letter testifying to active involvement in a Catholic parish
- NJ Teaching Certificate or its reciprocal
- NJ Principal Certificate

Faculty and staff openings are organized in date order by county. Schools may list their openings with us, but are not obligated to do so. Applications are to be sent as indicated in the posting, usually by email, directly to the schools. Please do not submit applications to the Catholic Schools Office.
REQUIREMENTS- Commitment to the Catholic Church’s teaching mission and philosophy
- Dedication to a values-based education
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college
- A valid NJ State Certification or commitment to certification
- Ongoing commitment to students, parents, community, and profession
- Teaching experience a plus
