Teacher Qualifications:
  • Commitment to the Catholic Church’s teaching mission and philosophy

  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college
  • A valid NJ State Certification or commitment to certification
  • Ongoing commitment to students, parents, community, and profession
  • Teaching experience a plus
Principal Qualifications:

Candidates must possess educational vision, leadership skills, organizational ability and interpersonal strengths.  These leaders must be committed Catholics who can inspire faculty and staff, and engage parents and students in pursuit of both spiritual development and academic excellence.     

Candidates must have the ability to create a high-expectations environment for teachers, students, and families. They must nurture a school culture where faculty and staff members work collaboratively to ensure student achievement.

  • Earned Master’s degree in Education, preferably in school leadership
  • NJ Teaching Certificate or its reciprocal

Current High School Principal Openings

Immaculate Conception High School in Montclair, New Jersey, a coed secondary school in the Archdiocese of Newark, seeks applications for the position of Principal.

Founded in 1925 , the school serves a diverse student body of approximately 200 students, drawn primarily from Essex County.  The curriculum is College Preparatory in nature and virtually all of the school’s graduates pursue further education.  The position commences on July 1, 2015. 

Reporting to the President, the Principal will be the Chief Academic Officer responsible for instructional and student management matters, and will work with the President and the Campus Minister in fostering the community’s spiritual growth and development.  The successful candidate will be an active, committed and practicing Catholic, with professional experience in Catholic education, and will hold a Master’s degree preferably in School Leadership and New Jersey Principal Certification or its reciprocal.   The successful candidate, moreover, will be a visible representative of the school at alumni and fundraising events.
